A: Unlike DIY kits that may sag or tear, and are sold using thinner ounce fabric . The Diy sails have a very low breaking strength usually 1,100 lbs which does not allow them to be tighten completely thus making the sails not able to handle the desert heavy winds loads. Jazzyl’s sails are custom-measured, professionally tensioned, and built with commercial-grade materials for strength, style, and long-term performance in desert conditions. Our sails have a breaking strength up near 4,000 lbs.
Q: What is the difference between fixed fabric shades and shade sails?
A: Fixed fabric shades are permanent overhead structures designed for durability and continuous coverage. They usually require a solid frame to be installed over top of it. While A shade sail requires no frame underneath . A custom sail can be made using 3 points minimum to a maximum of 6 points per sail. Shade sails are tensioned canopies that can be customized in shape, size, and angle. Both provide UV protection, but shade sails add a sculptural, modern design element.
